This guy is one of my neighbors unfortunately.  He constantly bangs into any car parked in front of him or behind, as we are forced to parallel park here.  His car is all banged up so he don't care about anyone else's.  I saw him scrap my bumper the other day.  I called the cops, but the DC cops are worthless.  I sent him a letter and one to my insurance company.  I hope they take action against him because I know he won't respond or take responsibility for the damage he's caused to this car and my previous one too!  I wish he'd move.

This is something that has irriated the living daylights out of me for so long I just started taking an alternative route when I see it happen from a distance.  But I'm sick of it and need to say something.

Adams Morgan. The intersection of 18th and Florida Sts, NW, northbound right lane of 18th.  Every Monday or Tuesday morning during rush hour, there is either a garbage truck or a children's charity (the same one everytime) truck standing with their hazard lights blinking... in a NO STANDING OR PARKING ANY TIME space.  If you are headed north and have to turn right onto Florida or continue northward on 18th, you have to HOPE that none of the cars in front of you in the left lane are turning left because they're waiting for oncoming traffic.  If any of them do, you have to sit through a light or two (the green lasts a whopping 7 or 8 seconds) before being able to go around them, whether you're going to turn onto Florida or go around them to keep heading north.  I feel a certain pity for the children's charity truck but hey: they're (illegally) screwing up our morning commute WEEKLY.

Anybody else experiencing this?

At the point where 295S runs out, before merging onto Penn. Ave in NE by the Sousa Bridge, signs give drivers at least 1/2 mile of warning that they need to merge to the two right lanes.  It is always amusing to see the abundance of local drivers who drive in the left lane all the way to the end and attempt to squeeze in, crossing the solid white line and sometimes even busting through plastic pylons. 

Yesterday a jackface in a silver Lexus SUV tried to squeeze in by pushing me out of the way.  He was about an inch from my left fender when I honked the horn.  We had a nice calm conversation (rrrright) in which he accused me of "cutting him off."  Hmmm, didn't know you could cut someone off if they try to Sherman Tank their way into your lane!

Anyone else have similar experiences? 

Is there something in the water in Washington State? Why are so many flags, etc. for things that happen there winding up in the Washington, DC section?! You don't see the vice versa--people from Washington, DC with flags, etc. for Washington State. You people need help!

DDOT: Inbound South Capitol St. Bridge shut down until 1/29/07 4am. Watch for detour signs.

There is a huge problem with people making an illegal right turn from M St SW onto South Capital South Bound.  People believe it is ok to turn from the right thru lane (which is clearly marked with arrows) onto South Capital St.  Do these people not realize that if they do this and some hits them making a legal right turn they are at fault without question?
